Because of many issues with ethics within the music industry, this artist was never paid a royalty of any kind! In 2012 it was already a publicly known fact that the music industry had gotten so big and greedy that it was a dark place for artists. New opportunities in building business in the industry were apparent to any entrepreneur. Thousands of people were reaching out with a lists of "problems". Artists wanted the same attention, but not from the same places. They wanted to release their music and have it reach the masses, but not via a Label. Artists wanted opportunity, and control.
In 2012 Lillie's daughter, Felicia Ranell McCloud also know as Lady Rayne McCloud , already a serial entrepreneur, remembering the horrors that had happened to her mother and noticing the change in the landscape, started doing what great business leaders do. She started talking to people.
She realized right away that scam artists where on fire! With the new business models popping up and the artists trying anything, the landscape had not made things better but WORSE! The other thing that was clear, was the fact that most of these artists had the ability and work ethic to pay a small amount for help, but would NEVER be getting help from any actual professional in the music industry unless they had reached a level of income and or status that made since to the professionals. Lady Rayne also saw the complaints from the industry side of things like the fact that "saturation" had become an issue and artists where unrealistic. She created an intense program any artist could join but only "one percent" would make it to the next year and on to the completion of that program,( THE #TNM ONE PERCENT ARE PRESENTED EACH YEAR) giving any company who picked them up a fully packaged and industry savvy indie artist.
Alternatively an artist who completed the program would be so independent that they could opt to remain indie and continue to build from there. No names are dropped, no big promises, just realistic real time business building and education. Thus #TNM Was born June 6, 2012.
