OUR STORY
Founded in 2012 by Lady Rayne McCloud and Cassandra James, #TNM was born from a deep passion for protecting and empowering artists in the music industry. Lady Rayne’s connection to the music world runs deep—her mother, Nicole McCloud, was a well-known vocalist in the 80s and 90s, signed to several major labels. Growing up, Rayne witnessed firsthand the challenges and chaos that come with being a professional artist, shaping her desire to create a safer, more supportive environment for emerging talents.
Our Founder’s Journey
Early Life
Lady Rayne McCloud grew up immersed in the music industry. Her mother, Nicole McCloud, was a prominent vocalist in the 80s and 90s, signed to several major labels. From an early age, Rayne witnessed the highs and lows of the music world, gaining an insider’s perspective on the challenges faced by professional artists. This upbringing would later fuel her desire to protect and empower other artists.
Career Beginnings
At just 16 years old, Rayne’s talent was recognized when she was offered a deal by Epic Records. However, with a deep commitment to her theological studies and a clear understanding of the chaotic nature of the music industry, she made the difficult decision to turn down the offer. Instead, she focused on her education, studying law and theology. Her early career included working with Joseph Sparitti, an entertainment lawyer and manager in South Florida, which provided her with invaluable insights into the industry.
Rayne also explored entrepreneurship, starting her first business at 16 and later running a consulting and marketing firm, as well as a real estate business. These experiences, combined with her studies in religion and philosophy at Florida Memorial University and Liberty University, shaped her unique perspective and approach to business and spirituality.

The Founding of #TNM

While engaging with artists on social media, Rayne realized there was a significant need for guidance and support among independent artists. With a strong foundation in spiritual counseling, business consulting, and music entrepreneurship, she decided to create a platform that would offer the protection and resources artists needed to succeed without falling victim to industry pitfalls.
Cassandra James, a close friend who believed in Rayne’s vision of balancing spiritual, emotional, and business elements, became the first to invest in the idea, helping to bring #TNM to life. What started as a simple support network has since grown into a full-scale Music Business & Entrepreneurship program, including the launch of TNM LLC and TNM Small Guy Records.

Our Expansion
As #TNM grew, so did the demand for more comprehensive services. This led to the creation of TNM LLC, a platform offering professional services that turn artists' skills into income streams. Over time, many clients expressed a desire for #TNM to become a label, and thus TNM Small Guy Records was born—a label owned by its artists, where the artists sign the label, not the other way around.
